It has always been such a novel concept, remembering where you were when a particular sporting event happened. The glory days of yesterday when you sit around with friends and swap stories of your favorite moment, whether you were participating or just watching, celebrating or hanging your head. Sports have the power to turn enemies into friends, strangers into neighbors and a nation into ONE.
How often do you just browse over the sports section when a certain sport is the topic? Not that many people pay attention to cycling, swimming, the little league world series... Yet, you know Lance Armstrong’s statistics; you were glued to your television when Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals. And you can’t help but watch and cheer for the kids during the game. It’s that feeling camaraderie that you can’t explain. How many times have you been at a live sporting event and high fived the person next to you when an amazing play has happened? We’ve all done it. It’s the power of sports. What amazing thing athleticism. It can bring so many together for such amazing results. It’s the power of the off season when human nature takes over, to bring many together for a great cause: to find a cure. A cure for Cancer, Child Abuse, Diabetes, AIDS. On a football field, Basketball Court, Golf Course, athletes, politicians and Hollywood come together to bring about change. That’s the power of sports.
Sports have the ability to make you heart fill with pride, your eyes swim with tears and make your soul shine brighter than the sun. To be able to work with two of the greatest hockey players to ever skate the ice, as well as see them dedicate time to The St. Jude Foundation, The Mike Modano Foundation and both of them played the golf tournament in Lake Tahoe to help find a cure for cancer with the Lance Armstrong Foundation. It’s the power of sports. Want to be a part of it. Join us anytime at Hully and Mo, the door is open.
Cheers!
